Writing Guidelines

This is YOUR story, so relax and tell it the way that makes sense to you. It is not an academic paper, nor will it be graded! Please do not worry that your writing abilities or grammar are not good enough. We have editors that will review your story for those aspects before it is posted.

We are aiming for roughly 1,000 words for most stories in their final form, but that is a general guideline, not a firm rule. Tell your story. We will work with you on the length if that is necessary.

Here’s how the process will work:

  • If you need to discuss your thoughts and get help organizing your story, we will help you with that. Send an email to us, and we’ll arrange a phone call to talk to you and get you started. (This step is not required, but it is a service we will provide if you need it.)
  • Submit your story.
  • Our editorial team will edit and proofread your submission. Then we will send you our suggestions for approval. Your story will not be posted until you have reviewed and approved the final version.

We want to hear your story. Focus on your journey. Please do not worry about your writing skills…we can help with that!
